The first 100 days of Governor Monday Okpebholo in Office has shown that his commitments and dedications is to revamp and restructure the state for a brighter future.
The Governor’s 100 days in office shows that “Edo Is Now Building Edo“, is a call that should resonates with the citizens across the state, to encapsulates a collective desire for progress, unity, and
empowerment.
In his campaign promises, he assured Edo citizens the provision of:
Adequate Security
Infrastructure
Quality HealthCare
Food Security
Quality Education. Which he has proving that leadership is not about noise making but result oriented. He is definitely confounding the critics’ and inspiring the citizens the more.
The quote – Edo is rising, is not on the wings of empty promises, but on the back of a governor who understands that’s actions speak louder than words. Indeed, Governor Okpehbolo has become the farmer who sows in silence and reaps in abundance, a true leader who delivers hope, one project at a time
In his 100 days in office, the Governor has been able to achieve the followings:
- 1. The significant increased in budgetary allocation to agriculture, from N5.9 billion in 2024 to N70 billion in 2025, a remarkable 1,086% increase.
2. The increament in monthly subvention of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, from N41 million to N500 million—an unprecedented 1,119.5% increase.
3. The recruitment process for 500 teachers in basic and post-basic schools reinforces the administration’s commitment to improving learning outcomes.
4. The establishment of the Edo State Commission for Persons with Disabilities has fostered inclusivity, ensuring that vulnerable groups receive the support they need.
5. The boosting of Edo Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from N8 billion to over N10 billion.
6. The appointment of 38 First-Class graduates into the Public Service Talent Development Programme and the launch of an interest-free loan scheme for 5,000 market women, farmers, and artisans.
7. Initiating infrastructure projects such as the construction and renovation of Auchi roads, markets, shops, flyover bridge.
8. Creating 700 direct jobs in the civil service and thousands of indirect jobs statewide.
9. The agricultural sector is set to benefit from a record-breaking budget of 70 billion Naira, promising a plentiful harvest.
10. The renovation and construction of primary and secondary schools across the state.
11. The accreditation of new programs at Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, expands educational opportunities for young people.
12. The restoration of full statutory rights to the revered Oba of Benin has reinforced Edo’s cultural heritage and traditional leadership.
Governor Okpebholo’s first 100 days in office have been characterized as a decisive leadership, people-centered policies, and a clear roadmap for sustainable development.
His administration has demonstrated a commitment to security, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and economic growth, setting the stage for a transformative tenure.
Beyond sectoral interventions, the Governor administration has taken measures to strengthen governance, improve revenue generation, and promote economic inclusion.
As the journey continues, it is certain that Edo State stand on the wings of unprecedented progress.
If his first 100 days are a glimpse into the next four years, then Edo State is with no doubt moving to a new era.
