The Executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Information Chapel, paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Leading the delegation, the Chapel’s Chairman, Comrade Towoju Raphael commended the Agency for its ongoing efforts in shaping public orientation. He further called for a strategic collaboration between the Chapel and the NOA, specifically in the area of capacity building for government spokespersons across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
In his response, the Director General of the NOA praised the Union for its dedication and professionalism. He assured the Chapel of the Agency’s support, noting that the NOA would partner with the Union in ways that align with its mandate.
The DG emphasized the need for the Federal Ministry of Information to serve as a central, one-stop hub for all government information. He also stressed the importance of equipping Information Officers with the necessary skills to remain competitive alongside their counterparts in the mainstream media.
The visit concluded with the presentation of copies of the Chapel’s publication to the Director General. In a reciprocal gesture, the DG presented the National Values Charter plaque to the Union, symbolizing a shared commitment to ethical values and national reorientation.
