NIOB INDUCTS HON.BIMBO KOLADE AS ITS 23RD PRESIDENT

The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) on Tuesday 11th November 2025 in Abuja, inducted BIdr. Bimbo Daniel Kolade, FNIOB, as its 23rd President

The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha CFR, who chaired the occasion noted that the investiture marked a significant moment in the life of the great institute. He said, “This is a moment that signifies renewal of leadership, reaffirmation of purpose, and reawakening of professional ideals.”

He further said, “The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) has for decades stood as a pillar of professionalism, technical competence, and ethical responsibility in the Nigerian construction industry. The institute promotes leadership in structured training, professional certification, and regulatory collaboration, especially with the Council of Registered Builder’s of Nigeria (COBON) which plays a central role in shaping a resilient and credible construction sector.”

Mr. Mustapha commended the council and the fellows who contribute daily to strengthening the institutes legacy.

Speaking during the ceremony, the 3rd Vice President of the institute, Dr. Adesina Aladeloba, who was also the Chairman local Organizing Committee, observed that the investiture marked a significant milestone in the journey of the institute while. Mr Aladeloba who expressed confidence in the ability of the new president and his team to move the institude to greater heights said, ” As we gather to witness the investiture and indeed the induction of our new leaders and fellows, we celebrate the spirit of service, dedication, and leadership that they embodied.”

“The leaders we invest today will be the touchbearers of our Institute’s future; to envision positive change leveraging on the adaptive technology enveloping the world of professional practice and we have every confidence that they will lead with integrity, wisdom and vision”, he added.

Bldr. Adesina Aladeloba who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing leaders for their tireless efforts and contributions to the institute noted that their legacy would not be forgotten as members look forward to the continued growth and progress of the organisation.

He reminded the new officials to uphold the virtue of service delivery, humility, and the ability to inspire others. “As you take on your new roles, remember that you are not just leaders but mentors, role models, and catalist for positive change. ” He stated.

In his valedictory speech, the immediate past president of the Institute, Bldr. Alderton Ewa Ewa expressed gratitude to God for the honour of serving as the 22nd president. He recalled that, he took the oath of office two years ago with an unwavering conviction that the institute could be repositioned, reenergized and reimagined to better reflect the dignity and potential of the building profession in Nigeria.

Reflecting on his administration, Bldr. Ewa explained that the story of his tenure could be described as that of a collective effort, teamwork, faith, and steadfast commitment to the ideals of professionalism, excellence, and service.

He disclosed that under his leadership, the institute consolidated its mission of advancing professionalism in building practice through education, regulation, advocacy, and capacity building.

In his speech, the 23rd President of the Nigerian Institute of Building Hon. Daniel Abimbola Kolade, FNIOB, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to God, the council, and the entire membership of the institute for the confidence reposed in him.

He pledged to be guided by a singular conviction that the future of the profession depends on how well his leadership innovate, empowers, and upholds the standards that define members as builders. He further said, “Today’s investiture is not only a ceremony of office – it is a solemn affairmation of our shared commitment to the growth, relevance, and integrity of the building profession.”

Speaking further, he said his administration’s policy direction would focus on five interelated pillars; designed to reposition the institute for greater impact in the 21st century construction ecosystem

According to him, these pillars are innovation and research; entrepreneurial development; professional regulation and ethics; advocacy and policy influence; capacity building, and youth empowerment.

Bldr. Daniel Abimbola was elected as the 23rd President of the Nigerian Institute of Building at the institute’s 55th Annual General Meeting held in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state. He has previously served as first Vice President (2023 – 2025), second Vice President (2021- 2023), and third Vice President (2019 – 2021) of the institute.

He currently serves as the Federal Commissioner representing Oyo State in the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission RMAFC.

Highlight of the event was the investiture and induction of new members into the prestigious fellowship grade of the institute.

The occasion was attended by the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Dr. Mohammed Bello Shehu OFR, who led a high- powered delegation of Federal Commissioners from the Commission to the occasion.

Other dignitaries at the investiture ceremony included the Governor of Ebonyi state, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Minister of Housing Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa and FIRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji.
